The main prop in our game Vàra. The game's main mechanic is shadow casting to solve shape-based puzzles, this lantern is the means with which this happens.

Early Studies looking at real lanterns for shapes that made sense. This was before we decided to go with a more magical feeling for the world.

Once we had decided on a basic shape, I took the idea and made more iterations based on it.

After fully developing our game style, we had a much better idea for a lantern befitting our game look and feel. We moved from a deciduous forest to a forest with evergreens to give the winter a softer feel, and as such, changed the lantern design to match.
